KYLE PRICE

CELLIST, AND MEMBER OF THE CAVANI STRING QUARTET

Kyle Price, cellist, and member of the Cavani String Quartet, is nationally recognized for his multifaceted musical career, innovative leadership style, and his advocacy for collaborative programming in the arts and humanities. His profound love of chamber music began as part of a family of dynamic musicians at The Chamber Music Connection, (Columbus) where he had the opportunity to work with some of the most respected and acclaimed musicians of our time, including members of The Cleveland, Cavani, Emerson, Guarneri, St Lawrence, and Brentano String Quartets. He has performed at internationally renowned music festivals such as The Perlman Music Program, Banff School of the Arts, and has been featured as a guest artist on NPR’s From the Top!. Kyle’s recital appearances include universities around the U.S. and abroad, most recently, The McDuffie Center for Strings, Nyon Conservatory (Switzerland) and University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Honors and prizes include, Grand Prize Winner of the 2018 Schubert Club Competition (MN), Grand Prize Winner of the 2015 Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition, Honorable Mention recipient in the 2017 Gershwin International Music Competition and solo engagements with LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Philharmonic and Waukegan Symphony. Kyle is also a founding member of the KASA Quartet, Grand Prize Winners of the 2017 Coltman Chamber Music Competition. In addition to his cello studies, Kyle has been composing from the age of 10, and has distinguished himself with an original voice, receiving commissions from the Johnstone Fund for New Music, Chamber Music Connection and performances by Calidore Quartet, Carpe Diem String Quartet, KASA Quartet, UW-Madison Orchestra, National Summer Cello Institute and Caroga Arts Ensemble. Kyle completed his Masters and Doctorate of Music Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as full Fellowship Teaching Assistant under renowned pedagogue cellist and Feldenkrais practitioner, Uri Vardi. Kyle received his Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of cellist and former Cavani Quartet member, Merry Peckham.

JEREMY KIENBAUM

VIOLIST

Violist Jeremy Kienbaum is an enthusiastic soloist, chamber musician, and educator. He has made recent appearances at Love from Lincoln Center, Chelsea Music Festival, and at the Lucerne and Davos Music Festivals in Switzerland. Mr. Kienbaum performs regularly with the At Home with Haydn Series in Minnesota, Bach Dancing and Dynamite Festival in Wisconsin, and with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in South Carolina. He has shared the stage with renowned musicians including Carmit Zori, Alexander Fiterstein, and alongside members of the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Strongly committed to performing works by living composers, Mr. Kienbaum has premiered works by Aaron Jay Kernis, Augusta Read Thomas, and Peter Eötvös, and has worked with composers such as Thomas Ades, Fred Lerdahl, and Nina C. Young. In 2016, he gave the world premiere of “Tragedy No. 2,” a string quartet concerto by Theo Chandler, as a member of the New Juilliard Ensemble in Alice Tully Hall. Mr. Kienbaum teaches violin, viola and chamber music at Hunter College in New York and has taught for the Juilliard School Music Advancement Program, Opportunity Music Project, and for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras. Additionally, he has given masterclasses and coached chamber ensembles at the Frostburg State University Summer Music Academy, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music, and for students of the Central Conservatory in Beijing, China. Originally from Wisconsin, Mr. Kienbaum received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Juilliard and is a doctoral candidate at the CUNY Graduate Center. He is grateful to have had the mentorship of his teachers David Perry, Sally Chisolm, Samuel Rhodes, and Mark Steinberg.

AARON SCHWARTZ

VIOLINIST

Aaron Schwartz is an accomplished orchestral, chamber, fiddler, and jazz musician. He creates chamber music arrangements and performs them regularly as a performing artist with the Caroga Lake Music Festival and as a founding member of the KASA Quartet. As an orchestral musician, Aaron serves as Concertmaster of Opera Project Columbus, Assistant Concertmaster of the LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra and also performs in CityMusic Cleveland, Nat28, and the Ohio Valley Symphony. He has soloed with the Danville Symphony and LaCrosse Symphony and has participated in master classes with Rachel Barton Pine, Peter Salaff, Michael Tree, Joseph Silverstein and the Cavani String Quartet. As a dedicated teacher, Aaron is an Associated Faculty member at the Chamber Music Connection in Worthington, Ohio where he coaches chamber music and improvisation. Aaron also teaches a private studio through Encore Music Studios. Aaron received a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and an Advanced Musical Studies Certificate from Carnegie Mellon under the tutelage of Andres Cardenes. Aaron plays with a French-Canadian bow crafted by Richard Compartino on loan from Deborah Price.
